It appears that Minecraft Legends will offer players some level of customization, and the more customization it offers, the better the game will be.
Minecraft Legends is rapidly becoming one of the most anticipated games of 2023. Minecraft Legends seems to be a surprising complex spinoff with a lot of different gameplay mechanics and features. It combines the iconic blocky style and building mechanics of Minecraft with action-strategy gameplay. But if there’s one thing Minecraft Legends must do before its release, it’s add more customization options.
Personalization has always been a big part of what Minecraft is all about, even when it was still in beta. One of the highlights of creating a Minecraft world is that players can customize it to their liking, deciding what structures to construct, where to construct them, and what materials to use. Over the years, Minecraft’s updates have added more and more customizability to the game, such as new skins and decorative blocks; it would be great to see this implemented in Minecraft: Legends.
Minecraft Legends should increase its emphasis on customization.
A few weeks ago, during the Minecraft Live event, the first gameplay trailer for Minecraft Legends was unveiled. Over the course of approximately 12 minutes, fans witnessed the general gameplay loop of Minecraft Legends. Fans witnessed the player character gathering resources from the environment, constructing bridges and towers, conjuring an army of mobs, and engaging in combat with the evil Piglin forces.
Throughout the gameplay reveal trailer for Minecraft Legends, fans spotted a few elements that appeared to be modifiable. It is currently confirmed that players will be able to modify their Minecraft Legends character to some extent. It is currently unknown how extensive this character creator will be, but it is likely to be relatively simple, with only a few face and body customization options. It also appears that players will be able to customize their character’s appearance by selecting the type of armor they wear; however, this will likely have a significant impact on the gameplay, as different armors will likely have different attributes.
In addition to character customization, Minecraft Legends may offer a limited amount of mob customization. This could probably be achieved through the use of hats in Minecraft Legends. Each monster in the game wears a hat to protect them from the sun, as they cannot normally survive during the day. This could allow for a small amount of customization, with the player being able to swap out different hat styles for their monsters.
At least for the time being, this concludes the potential customization options for Minecraft Legends. Given the importance of customization to Minecraft’s identity, it would be great to see it carried over to Minecraft Legends. Minecraft Legends could implement a large number of different customization options. The ability for players to dye their clothing and armor to alter its color, the addition of more clothing options for mobs, and the ability to alter the appearance of their weapons and armor could be implemented. Additionally, Minecraft Legends could allow players to embellish their towers, bridges, and villagers’ homes. This would be a fantastic way to implement additional iconic Minecraft blocks, such as paintings, bookshelves, torches, and other decorative blocks instantly recognizable by fans. Minecraft Legends will be able to capture the high level of player freedom offered by vanilla Minecraft by doubling down on customization options, allowing players to imbue the game with their own unique style.
In 2023, Minecraft Legends will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S.
