Spotify’s Wrapped 2022 is out, and Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift are the year’s most-played artists.

Spotify unveiled its 2022 Wrapped campaign, which features a personalized year-end recap experience for users, as well as the platform’s top artists, songs, albums, and podcasts of the year.

Taylor Swift

Bad Bunny, who was the most-streamed artist globally on Spotify for the third consecutive year, was once again in the lead. The album “Un Verano Sin Ti” by the Puerto Rican rapper and singer has been the most streamed album worldwide this year, with more than 18.5 billion streams.

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny’s accomplishment is being commemorated by multiple Wrapped 2022 promotions, including out-of-home billboards and posters in multiple cities inviting fans to locate the most-streamed artist through a word search. Over the next week, Spotify will also roll out an Easter egg for Bad Bunny: when users like or tap the heart on one of his tracks, it will transform from Spotify’s classic green heart to Bad Bunny’s iconic red heart.

A repeat from 2021, Taylor Swift was Spotify’s second most-streamed artist overall and the most-streamed female artist of the year. Her album “Midnights” landed at No. 4 on the U.S. most-streamed albums chart, an impressive feat considering it was only released on Oct. 21. Swift is also Spotify’s most viral artist of the year, meaning her is the most frequently shared from Spotify to social media platforms.

How to Wrap Up Your 2022 Spotify

In 2022, Drake, The Weeknd, and BTS rounded out the top five most-streamed artists worldwide on Spotify.

“As It Was” by Harry Styles was the most-streamed on Spotify in 2022, with more than 1.6 billion streams worldwide. The second and third positions are held by “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals and “Stay (with Justin Bieber)” by Kid Laroi for the second consecutive year. Bad Bunny holds the fourth and fifth positions with “Me Porto Bonito” and “Tit Me Preguntó,” respectively. (See additional Spotify Wrapped 2022 rankings below.)

The most popular podcast on Spotify in 2022 was “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which is available exclusively on the audio platform (read more about Spotify’s most popular podcasts of the year).

Beginning on Wednesday, November 30, eligible Spotify users will be able to access their personalized 2022 Wrapped experience exclusively in the mobile app (iOS and Android). More information can be found at spotify.com/wrapped.

This year’s Wrapped includes fan-favorite features, such as displaying users’ favorite artists, genres, songs, podcasts, and listening time. Spotify has added new components for 2022, including:

Your Listening Personality: Spotify has created 16 distinct “Listening Personality” types, and Wrapped will show users with which personality they are matched based on their 2022 listening habits.

Expanded Your Artist Messages: Wrapped featured thank-you messages from approximately 100 artists in 2021. This year, Spotify has increased the number of featured artists to over 40,000, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, J Balvin, Pusha T, Shania Twain, and Mneskin. The Your Artist Messages feature will provide eligible fans with a personalized video feed of thank-you messages from some of their favorite artists in 2022, with each video being followed by the fan’s most-listened-to song from that artist this year.

In addition to personalized and curated playlists, Spotify’s Wrapped hub will have merchandise from your favorite artists and a calendar of upcoming live events.

More sharing alternatives: This year, fans can share their Wrapped cards on WhatsApp and Line, unlock a personalized Snapchat lens that reflects their Listening Personality, and gain access to Wrapped-themed Bitmoji apparel. Spotify is also introducing custom GIFs with a Wrapped theme for all Giphy partners.

Roblox affiliation: Wrapped will take over the mainland of Spotify Island with quests, games, virtual merchandise, and photo booths featuring artists such as Bizarrap, Black Sherif, CRO, Doechii, Eslabon Armada, Miranda Lambert, NIKI, Stray Kids, SUNMI, and Tove Lo.

In addition, Spotify launched its Wrapped creator experience for artists and podcasters, offering individualized Wrapped microsites that enable creators to investigate how fans consumed their content in 2018.
