Moonlight Sculptor is a South Korean MMORPG adapted from the novel The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor by Heesung Nam. Prior to its global release, the game was released on Korean servers. When it was released in Southeast Asia on May 24th, it quickly gained a large player base. Although it only has five servers, Moonlight Sculptor is able to accommodate a large number of players thanks to its channel system that divides the player base. It’s not surprising that players in each server are very active and crowded.

Aside from its server service and hype from the novel, what are the interesting things offered by Moonlight Sculptor as a mobile MMORPG game? Is it worth playing in the long run?
Moonlight Sculptor offers a typical five classes for MMORPGs: Warrior, Archer, Mage, Paladin, and Alchemist. These classes have different styles of combat, allowing players to choose the one that fits their preferred playstyle. At first glance, these classes seem generic like other MMORPGs. However, Moonlight Sculptor surprises players with a hidden class called the Sculptor.
As a hidden class, the Sculptor is gifted with performance that is slightly superior to the other five classes. Its high critical attack allows the Sculptor to deal high damage in both PvE and PvP mode. This is why the Sculptor is currently the most popular class to use. With a total of six classes available, Moonlight Sculptor should be able to provide balance among the classes. However, this has not been achieved yet. Moonlight Sculptor has failed to balance the classes effectively, as some classes are stronger than others, such as the Sculptor and Archer. In addition, classes like Paladin have relatively low performance and are rarely used. Ideally, an MMORPG should have balanced power among its classes to allow players to play different roles without favoritism towards certain classes.
In terms of features, Moonlight Sculptor offers the standard features that are currently popular in mobile MMORPGs. These include guilds, daily quests, and various content such as dungeons and field hunting. However, these features are not particularly innovative or unique, and can be found in other mobile MMORPGs as well. In terms of character customization, Moonlight Sculptor offers a variety of options for players to customize their character’s appearance. However, the options are not as extensive as those found in other games.
