When an artistic fan creates an animated wallpaper based on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the game is given a new look.
One talented artist who is also a Zelda fan has created an animated wallpaper for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess that reimagines the world of Hyrule in pixel art. Some fans are already waiting for Tears of the Kingdom to come out, but this fan art shows that gamers haven’t forgotten about Link’s past adventures.

Twilight Princess stood out because of its more realistic art style, despite the fact that many Zelda games had been released before it. Nintendo used the GameCube and Wii to make the graphics more realistic. Many people have said that the graphics are more mature than those in some of the earlier games in the series. A gamer decided to see what the game would look like with a more retro aesthetic, despite the game’s reputation for a more mature art style.
Recently, a Reddit user identified as itzaspace uploaded a wallpaper based on Twilight Princess, and the results are nothing short of impressive. Link and Zelda’s 3D models were surprisingly well-translated into pixel art. The image depicted the two main characters riding Epona, presumably, near the Great Bridge of Hylia. In addition to the main characters, Hyrule Castle could be seen in the distance against an orange sky, with the game’s title displayed at the top of the wallpaper.
Even though this scene created by itzaspace was already impressive, the artist decided to add animation to the Twilight Princess wallpaper. The animated elements of the image included petals that floated across the display. In addition, Link and Zelda’s clothing and the flowers on the ground moved gently in the wind. Even Epona’s tail was observed to be moving back and forth.
This wallpaper has made a significant impact on the Zelda subreddit. Since itzaspace uploaded the image, it has received more than 4,000 upvotes, and nostalgic fans have praised the artist in the comments section. Unsurprisingly, a large number of gamers desired to use the wallpaper on their devices; thankfully, the artist provided a link in the Reddit comments for those who desired to do so.
Some Zelda fans still desire The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Switch, as evidenced by this impressive fan art by itzaspace. While the Nintendo Online Service has already made available Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Majora’s Mask for the console, Twilight Princess has been conspicuously absent. There is always the possibility that Nintendo will announce the game for Switch in the future, but in the meantime, fans can continue to celebrate the game through nostalgic fan art.
Twilight Princess is currently available for the GameCube, Wii, and Wii U.
