The arrival of the next Tour in Mario Kart Tour has been announced, and it will include a classic Donkey Kong track from an older game in the series.
The upcoming season of Mario Kart Tour will include a Donkey Kong course. Fans of the mobile adaptation of the iconic racer are likely excited to learn that the autumn tour is coming to a close and that new content is on the horizon.
Mario Kart Tour is the mobile version of the long-running Mario Kart franchise, which has been met with mixed fan reception since its release. While the return of classic tracks and the addition of new tracks, racers, and costumes have been generally well-received, the monetisation of Mario Kart Tour has turned off some players. Fans who were turned off by the “free-to-start” nature of the game have been given an alternative way to experience the new tracks. With the Booster Course Pass DLC, select Mario Kart Tour tracks were added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, giving players the opportunity to try out some new Tour tracks as well as revisit some classics from previous console entries in the series.
The official announcement from the game’s developers says that the Animal Tour of Mario Kart Tour will start on November 15. The Animal Tour will feature DK Mountain, a classic Mario Kart course. Debuting initially in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! The course has previously reappeared in Mario Kart Wii, albeit with modifications. Surprisingly, players can expect the GameCube version, not the Wii version. It is unclear why an older version of the map is being utilized.

Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise continues to be incredibly successful with no signs of slowing down. Fans speculated for a long time as to whether Mario Kart 9 would eventually arrive on the Switch or if such a game wouldn’t be released until the next Nintendo console. While it’s not impossible for a sequel to launch on the Switch, the likelihood is extremely low given that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is receiving updates with a multitude of additional tracks. There’s also a chance that the new racers and outfits from Mario Kart Tour will eventually be added to the Switch version of the game, extending its lifespan even further. Nintendo has not made any official statements regarding the possibility.
Mario Kart Tour for mobile devices is now available.
