Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise continues to be incredibly successful with no signs of slowing down. Fans speculated for a long time as to whether Mario Kart 9 would eventually arrive on the Switch or if such a game wouldn’t be released until the next Nintendo console. While it’s not impossible for a sequel to launch on the Switch, the likelihood is extremely low given that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is receiving updates with a multitude of additional tracks. There’s also a chance that the new racers and outfits from Mario Kart Tour will eventually be added to the Switch version of the game, extending its lifespan even further. Nintendo has not made any official statements regarding the possibility.
