Nacli and Its Evolutions Look Like They’re Straight Out of Minecraft in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

(Last Updated On: November 29, 2022)

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet show Nacli’s very salty evolutionary line, which looks like it was inspired by Minecraft because of how blocky it is.

As the player explores Paldea in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, they will try to fill up their Pokedex. As they do this, they might meet Nacli and the Pokémon that have evolved from it, which are all made of salt. Additionally, they are so blocky that they resemble Minecraft mobs.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are not the first games to feature extremely bizarre Pokemon designs. Infamously, Sun and Moon featured the Ultra Beasts, which did not resemble regular Pokemon in any way. Due to Garganacl’s strong defensive stats, it may take some time for players to become accustomed to Nacli and its evolutionary line, but once they do, they may find that it can be used quite effectively in competitive play.

Nacli, Naclstack, and Garganacl – The Salty Pokemon

Pokemon designs have drawn inspiration from a variety of sources over the years, including animals, inanimate objects, and food. The evolutionary trajectory of Nacli follows an intriguing path, drawing inspiration from salt. The name Nacli alludes to this, as NaCl is the chemical name for sodium chloride, also known as table salt. According to its Pokedex entry, it was born from a layer of underground rock salt. Its evolved form, Naclstack, continues the salt motif by coating its prey with salt to cure them. It can also fire salt pellets with sufficient force to rip iron sheets apart. The culmination of evolution is Garganacl. According to its Pokedex entry, when this Pokémon rubs its fingers together, the salt that is scattered can help heal wounds.

In addition to their salty theme, the designs of Nacli and its evolutions are quite blocky. This isn’t too much of a surprise, since they come from the earth and rock salt is usually in blocks. However, this has the unintended consequence of making the Pokemon appear to be ripped from Minecraft. These creatures are easily imaginable as hostile mobs in the Minecraft universe. Even though Nacli’s evolutionary line is not poorly designed, they feel less like Pokemon and more like Minecraft mobs, especially since Nacli’s eyes are also blocky.

Paldea Packs Plenty of Phenomenal Pokemon Designs

Those who find Nacli’s blocky appearance endearing, or who simply want to imagine a Pokemon and Minecraft crossover, can locate the creature with relative ease. It is abundant near the beaches and rocky regions of Paldea. At level 24, it evolves into Naclstack, and at level 38, it evolves into Garganacl, its final form. Those who fall in love with this evolution line should be aware that Garganacl is a relatively sluggish Rock-Type Pokémon with solid defensive stats. It is immune to status conditions due to its Purifying Salt ability, which can be a key component of certain strategies. Other interesting designs from this generation include the cute but powerful Tinkaton, the clone of Pikachu called Pawmi, and the Varoom evolution line that looks like a car engine.

With Scarlet and Violet’s new “Let’s Go” feature, players will have many chances to look at Nacli or any other Pokemon’s design. This permits Trainers to keep Pokemon outside of their Pokeballs. During this time, their Pokemon can earn easy EXP by gathering items and battling wild foes. Some Pokemon’s evolution mechanics are tied to the Let’s Go feature, which encourages players to let their creatures out for more frequent walks.
