Minecraft introduced a number of new developments in addition to Allays and new biomes. This guide assists players in their pursuit of the Birthday Song trophy / achievement.
Mojang deserves praise for its dedication to Minecraft. With two spinoffs and counting, the original game keeps getting better and better. In addition to the enhancements made to the game’s cave systems, new creatures have been added to the surface world for players to admire.

Alongside the updates and enhancements to the gameplay, four obscure new trophies/achievements have been added for players to unlock. This guide will assist players in obtaining the ‘Birthday Song’ trophy/achievement, which requires a tamed Allay mob to drop a cake near a note block.
Finding and Taming an Allay
Allays, which won the 2021 Mob Vote over the Copper Golem and Glare, are a cute and useful addition to the game. Finding them is difficult, but it is always possible:
- Held captive in cages close to Pillager Outposts – In the cells of Woodland Mansions (if the mansion has jail cells)
After liberating an Allay, players must give it an item — any item — in order for it to become “tamed” and follow them. While following the player, Allays will search for the items it has been given and drop them for the player. Removing the item from the Allay will prevent it from following the party. The creatures adore music, and if a note block is ‘activated’ near them, they will drop the item on top of the note block rather than delivering it to the player.
Allays will also dance when a jukebox is nearby, which is quite adorable. If the player gives an allay an amethyst fragment while it is dancing, the allay will duplicate itself. Even cuter!
Organizing the Birthday Party
Once the alligator has been tamed and is following the player, they must construct a note block and bake two cakes. To create a note block, the following resources are required:
- A Crafting Table to construct it on – Eight Wooden Planks of any variety
- 1 Redstone Dust in the central slot
To bake a delicious Minecraft cake, the following ingredients are required: - A Crafting Table – Three Milk Buckets in the first three slots
- 1 Egg in the center slot – 2 Sugar on either side of the egg – 3 Wheat in the three bottom slots
After baking two cakes and placing a note block, players need only present one cake to the Allay and place the other on top of the note block. Using the note block multiple times will cause the Allay to quickly switch the cake it is holding for the cake atop the note block, allowing the ‘Birthday Song’ trophy / achievement to be unlocked.
