How to export and import your web browser bookmarks

With the help of a portable HTML file, this article will demonstrate how to import and export your web browser bookmarks between Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.

You can use this to back up your bookmarks and move them to another computer or web browser.

Export Bookmark to HTML file format

To access the menus, click the vertical dots in Chrome’s upper-right corner, then choose Bookmarks, then Bookmarks Manager.
Ctrl + Shift + O is another keyboard shortcut you can utilize (the letter “oh”).

In the Bookmarks Manager’s top-right corner, click the vertical blue dots.
Be cautious not to confuse them with the grey vertical dots we utilized in the previous phase that are directly above them.

Select Export Bookmarks from the menu, then select a network location or a flash drive as the HTML file’s final destination.

Import HTML bookmark

The identical steps as for exporting must be followed, with the exception that you must choose Import Bookmarks from the menu in the last step, to import bookmarks from HTML into Chrome.


The HTML file containing your bookmarks will then be requested by Chrome.

MOZILLA FIREFOX

Point your cursor to the top corner of Mozilla Firefox browser and sort humbergur icon click on it, afterward navigate to bookmark tab and then click on it. in the bottom of screen appear navigate to manage bookmark or immediately, press ctrl + Shift + o on your keyboard. under library page point your cursor to left sidebar and select bookmark toolbar then click on menu import and backup available under library page afterward select “EXPORT BOOKMARK TO HTML”. for the last step, select the target location where the HTML file will be save.

So how to import our HTML file format which saved on local computer. to import HTML file just follow the same instruction as export HTML, but in import & backup menu select “import bookmark to HTML” and all done.

Microsoft Edge Favorites

in exporting HTML Microsoft Edge had his own term as we known in Chrome & Mozilla used bookmark otherwise, Microsoft Edge well-knows as Favorites. even the name is not same but the function is same.

First of all, to exporting HTML in Microsoft Edge heading to the top corner with three dot line, click on it and navigate to Favorites or Press “Ctrl + Shift + O” on your keyboard you will be directing into Favorites page. for the next further step select “Favorites FOLDER” which you want to export to HTML. Afterward select three dot line at the top of Favorites page, just tab on it, then navigate to “EXPORT FAVORITES”. for the last step, save as EXPORT FAVORITES to the drive in your local computer. exporting favorites to HTML now finished.

Import from HTML

As another browser to importing from HTML just following the same instruction for exporting step, but for the end select “IMPORT FAVORITES” as shown on picture above.

Ok. for the last one browser is safari, because i don’t install this browser on my computer. let’s me to figure out without image.

SAFARI BROWSER

Export to HTML

to export bookmark into HTML in SAFARI browser title bit easy. you just select “FILE” on menu bar. and then select “EXPORT BOOKMARK”. save as HTML into drive on your local computer.

Import to HTML

to import just follow the same steps as export but in drop down menu select “Import From” tab.and select HTML file from local computer importing into safari browser than all done.
