How to beat the Open Sky Titan in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Path of Legends

(Last Updated On: November 29, 2022)

The second Titan Pokemon encountered in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan. Here is how to overcome it.

It is up to the players of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet to stop titan-sized Pokemon from wreaking havoc throughout the Paldean region. The second Titan that players should attempt to hunt is the Open Sky Titan, also known as Bombirdier.

However, without assistance, locating and defeating this particular Titan can be difficult. This guide will assist Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players in locating and defeating Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan.

How To Locate the Open-Air Titan

Similar to the Stony Cliff Titan, Klawf, the Open Sky Titan is relatively easy to locate. The location of the Titan is indicated by a node on the West Province, Area One side of the Rotom Map. Players should open their Rotom Map and scroll to this node. After clicking on the node, a directional arrow will appear on the player’s overworld compass, pointing toward the Titan. The Open Sky Titan is located at the peak of Area One’s mountain. As they approach the Titan, large boulders will begin to roll down the mountain in an attempt to deter them. Avoid the boulders and challenge Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan.

How To Conquer The Open-Air Titan Bombirdier

Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan, is a level 25 Flying and Dark-type Pokémon. This provides a variety of weaknesses to exploit, making the battle somewhat simpler. Flying-types are vulnerable to Ice, Electric, and Rock-type attacks, while Dark-types are vulnerable to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy-type attacks. Ice, Electric, Rock, and Fairy-type moves are weak against Bombirdier because Flying resists Bug and Fighting.

As with the Stony Cliff Titan, Bombirdier will begin the first phase of the battle with simple attacks, similar to a typical battle. This initial phase of the battle should be simple for the majority of trainers given a suitable type match. After sustaining sufficient damage, Bombirdier will retreat to a lower portion of the mountain to initiate phase 2.

Open Sky Titan Bombirdier Phase 2

Similar to the Stony Cliff Titan, in Phase 2 Bombirdier retreats, breaks a hole in the mountain, consumes a portion of the Herba Mystica, and gains strength from it. Likewise, Arven will join the player in combat, helping to alleviate some of the fight’s stress. The second phase operates similarly to the first, but Bombirdier’s health has been restored and its stats have been improved, making it more difficult to defeat. The players will defeat the second Titan Pokemon if they can withstand the barrage of attacks.

Enhance Koraidon/Miraidon

After defeating the Titan, players will receive the Herba Mystica that the Titan was previously munching on. Feed a portion of it to either Koraidon or Miraidon to improve their movement capabilities, such as the ability to swim, as depicted in the image.
