(Last Updated On: November 27, 2022)

Through this guide, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players can learn everything there is to know about automatically healing Pokemon in-game.

Auto Heal

Even though Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were only recently released, they are already a topic of conversation. There are noticeable new mechanics, like terastallizing, that have gotten a lot of attention, and there are also other features that have gotten less attention.

This guide will discuss one of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet features that may have flown under the radar for many players due to the attention surrounding the game’s more significant gameplay changes. Here, players can learn everything they need to know about Auto Heal, a useful automatic way to heal their Pokemon quickly.

Utilizing Auto Heal

After the first Pokemon battle and prior to gaining access to wild Pokemon, players will be informed that they can use auto heal, a new option that saves time when it comes to healing their party after a battle.

To Auto Heal, players must open their party by pressing X in the main menu, then hover over the injured Pokemon and press A. (-). Auto Heal will only restore the health of the selected Pokemon; it will not automatically heal all other injured Pokemon. In this way, resources will not be wasted if the player does not wish to heal a specific Pokemon.

Item Order

Auto Heal will prioritize specific items. It analyzes the items in the player’s inventory and prioritizes their use. Here are the items in ascending order:

ItemHow much HP it restoresPurchasing cost
Fresh Water30200
Soda Pop50300
Super Potion60700
Moomoo Milk100500
Hyper Potion1201,500

It is up to the player to determine whether Auto Heal is beneficial. It only uses certain items to heal Pokemon, and it may not always be the most cost-effective item in a given situation, but it saves a great deal of time because pressing a single button is so simple.

Using a standard Potion on a low-level Pokemon is the optimal move, so everything is fine there. However, if it’s a Pokemon with a lot of health, it’ll likely need a few healing items before it regains full HP; in this case, it would be more cost-effective to use a couple Lemonades.
