A tweet from the Elden Ring revealed that the version 1.008 update will be available for download at the following times, though maintenance will take the game offline for approximately one hour to integrate the new data into the servers.

Today’s update for Elden Ring is all about the Colosseum DLC and the full patch .

The free Elden Ring Colosseum update is coming out today, December 7, and it includes a new PvP mode that anyone can play. This 1.08 update makes the open-world RPG better, and it’s the biggest change to the game since it came out in February 2022.

The main reason to go back into the harsh world of Bandai Namco and FromSoftware’s masterpiece is the new Colosseum multiplayer mode. It won’t be the only thing in the 1.08 update, though. There will likely be some tweaks to the game’s balance and maybe even some bug fixes.

Read on to learn everything there is to know about the new Elden Ring multiplayer Colosseum DLC, including when it will be released, what it is, and a full list of patch notes.

When does today’s Elden Ring update happen?

After an hour of server downtime, the Elden Ring Colosseum update should have been live here in the UK at or around 10am. This means that you should now be able to go to your Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam launcher and download/install the update right away.

The update should be live now, anyway, after being offline for about an hour, as the official Twitter account said:

The 1.08 update should now be available for everyone to download. Before the update, the servers had to be down for maintenance, which took some time.

What is the Elden Ring’s multiplayer Colosseum?
With the Colosseum update, everyone can play a brand-new multiplayer mode for free.

The Colosseums of Caelid, Leyndell, and Limgrave are now open to everyone for some tasty PvP action. In the colosseums, you can fight one-on-one, in a free-for-all, or as part of a team of up to six people.

Following the update, we anticipate a number of intense battles and the acquisition of bragging rights. What better way to demonstrate that you are the best at Elden Ring among your friends than by challenging them to a duel?

What’s new in today’s patch notes for Elden Ring?

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have validated the entire list of patch notes. The colosseums in Caelid, Leyndell, and Limgrave have been made available for online PvP battles between multiple players.

Notably, according to the official website, each arena has its own set of rules. In Limgrave, for instance, players can participate in United Combat (timed team battles with respawn capabilities, team deathmatch style) and Combat Ordeal (free-for-all).

In Leyndell, the Royal Colosseum, Duel Mode, the game’s one-on-one multiplayer mode, can be found. There are no respawns here. In the Caelid Colosseum, you can participate in all three multiplayer modes with the additional ability to conjure Spirit Ashes. You can fight anyone online, but you’ll need group passwords to battle (or team up with) your friends.

However, it’s not just the addition of free multiplayer DLC. In addition, five new hairstyles have been added to the game’s character creation tool. You’ll also notice that various adjustments to the balance have been made. The speed and range of attacks with daggers, axes, hammers, and dual-wielded flails have increased, and their recovery time has decreased.

There have also been a number of bug fixes, including the annoying bug that “prevented consumable items from being replenished when teleporting to a grace from the map.” The complete list of Elden Ring 1.08 update patch notes can be found here.
