On a journey through the great outdoors, you will need to bring everything you can carry. Classic items like Poké Balls, Potions, and TMs are coming back, but the Paldea region is also adding a lot of new collectibles, like Pokémon materials and Tera Shards. You’ll never have trouble getting the things you need to keep going, whether you find them in the open world, win them in Tera Raid Battles, or buy them from the Poké Mart and other unique shops.
Locating Objects in Paldea

As you continue your Treasure Hunt, you will inevitably stumble upon actual treasures. Similar to previous Pokémon games, rare items can be found on the ground. In Paldea, however, these collectibles are illuminated by a brilliant glow, making them easy to locate. If you see a sparkle or a small beam of light, be sure to grab the item or send out a Pokémon to do so for you. You will always have the chance to replenish your inventory, as certain items in the open world reset each day. In Paldea, you’ll also be able to collect the materials that wild Pokémon drop after a battle — a crucial ingredient for creating TMs.
Purchasing Goods in Paldea

It is time for a lesson in Paldean economics before we discuss the merchandise available in this region. Trainers in the Pokémon series traditionally earned money by selling items and winning battles. In Paldea, this is still the case, but you can also make purchases with a new currency called League Points, similar to Watts in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. You can earn these League Points (LP) by completing Tera Raid Battles, battling Terastallized Pokémon, and defeating Team Star’s bosses. LP can be used to create TMs in addition to purchasing items from Pokémon Centers and certain other vendors.
Important training-related items, such as Bottle Caps and Power Weights, are now available for purchase from the Delibird Presents shop in Paldea. Be sure to check their inventory whenever you enter a new store, as certain Delibird Presents locations carry popular held items such as Eviolites.
How to Create TMs with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Whether you’re assembling a team for a Treasure Hunt or to compete in multiplayer battles, TMs (short for Technical Machines) are an essential resource for gaining access to the appropriate moves for your playstyle. In addition to encountering TMs in the wild and receiving them as rewards for defeating specific Trainers, TMs can also be created at any Pokémon Center using materials that wild Pokémon drop after battle. If you want to craft a TM for a specific move, you’ll need to exchange Pokémon materials and League Points at a TM Machine.
Materials for TMs can be difficult to collect, but if you run around the open world engaging in Auto Battles, you will quickly amass an abundance. The Item Drop Power gained from specific meals and sandwiches can increase the amount of materials you collect, making it even easier to stock your TM library. And if you don’t need any TMs, you can exchange extra materials for League Points at a Pokémon Center’s TM Machine!
