Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, on the other hand, is not immune to criticism and has had its fair share of ups and downs. Some players are lost in the world of Paldea, trying to catch all of the new regional Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but one player can’t get past a certain problem.
Reddit user Horrifried noted in a recent post that there is one aspect of the game’s main character that most players appear to be missing or overlooking. The player is given a Rotom Phone with interchangeable cases at the beginning of the adventure, and it appears that all calls are made via speakerphone, regardless of where the player is. This is evidenced by the fact that characters constantly overhear phone calls and comment on the caller or the conversation as they enter the scene. According to Horrifried, it is a clear lack of regard and respect for those in the surrounding area, and judging by the response to the post after only 48 hours, it appears that the sentiment is shared.
In two days, the post has received more than 6,000 upvotes and more than 400 comments, with the majority of posters agreeing and pointing out that it either irritates or amuses them. One player notes the irony of discovering the post shortly after completing a cutscene in which the main character is instructed to keep their voice down, comparing the Rotom Phone’s call volume to that of a cannon. It’s a nice break from reality when it comes to all the glitches plaguing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but one has to wonder if the protagonist is unaware of his actions or simply doesn’t care who hears their calls.
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Paldea is a gorgeous region filled with breathtaking landscapes, and it’s easy to get lost in the scenery and never-ending stream of Pokemon. The same can be said for the main character of the game, who frequently takes calls and discusses important matters without concern. The only real concern for the newest protagonist may not be speaking too loudly, but rather the security function or lack thereof on their Rotom Phone.
